- Everyday during the fair (July 17 – 30) there are Harry Potter events such as a broomstick obstacle course and daily classes in which would-be wizards can learn about potions, herbology and magic, taught by a real magician. There’s also a Wizard’s Challenge which the website describes as “an excursion into the wild and amazing world of science with a wizardly theme. Dozens of interactive displays give you a huge variety of magical challenges and experiences. See if you can stay on your feet as you walk through a dizzying 20-foot rotating dragon’s lair. Grip the dragon’s tail and he tells you the strength of your grip. Check out the Wizard’s amazing energy machine. Leave your body’s imprint on a huge wall of nails. Magic cauldrons and mirrors will morph your image and voice.”
The fairgrounds are at 1350 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa. $7; 12 and under free. 545-4200
