Save the Date: The Weekends of October 12-14 and 19-21--Tolay Fall Festival and ARTrails

Thursday October 4, 2007

October 12 to 14 and 19 to 21: Tolay Fall Festival
Although it was sold, the much-beloved Cardoza Ranch Pumpkin Farm lives on as the Tolay Lake Regional Park. And the traditional pumpkin patch festivities, such as hayrides, fall games, outdoor education, performing arts, etc., will continue at the site during the Tolay Fall Festival. 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Free admission; Tolay Regional Park, 5869 Lakeville Highway, Petaluma; (707) 769-0429.

This is still one of the loveliest sites you can imagine and it offers breathtaking views. But, last year, some parents were saddened to see the pumpkin patch itself is no more. Instead of being grown on site, the pumpkins are being brought in. So, if it is important to you that your kids get to pick a pumpkin off the vine, you might want to visit some of the other wonderful pumpkin patches in Sonoma County.

October 13-14 and 20-21 : ARTrails Open Studios
As if driving to one beautiful spot in Sonoma County isn't enough for the weekend, ARTrails is a great excuse to meander throughout the rest of the county during this gorgeous time of year. ARTrails Open Studios is a very popular annual event in which the public can visit the studios of participating Sonoma County artists, view their work, speak with the artists and buy unique pieces of art. 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Free; (707) 579-2787
