  • April 1 through October 31: Luther Burbank Home & Gardens Tour Season
    Tour the historic home and gardens of world renowned, horticulturist, Luther Burbank. Tue-Sun & holidays, 10am - 4pm, unique Museum & Gift Shop.

  • April 1 : Annual Wine Country Chefs of Tomorrow Fundraiser
    This fun-filled evening features “Diners, Drive Ins and Dives” television personality and Santa Rosa local Guy Fieri with a play off of foods typically enjoyed at diners, dives and drive ins. This is the sixth year partnering with six area high school culinary arts programs. Each of the schools has been partnered with a lodging chef for a little friendly competition for the “Greasy Spoon – People’s Choice Award” and the “Best Appetizer”. A three course diner prepared by chef Karl Turner of Vintners Inn Event Center follows. 5:30 – 9:30pm; $75, at the Vintners Inn Event Center, 4350 Barnes Road Santa Rosa. (707) 523-3728

  • April 2 : Merle Haggard at the Wells Fargo Center
    You can thank Merle Haggard for electric country, 'cause he invented it! An original "Outlaw", Haggard is one of the most influential singer-songwriters of country music history. (707) 546-3600

  • April 2 : United Against Sexual Assault of Sonoma County Open House/Reception
    Reception/Open House to launch SAAM, announce all activities, and honor survivors. Free. (707) 545-7270

  • April 4 – 6 : Santa Rosa Boat RV & Sport show
    Family-friendly event includes free trout fishing, free kayaking, free pony rides for kids plus enough boats and RVs of all types to fill the Sonoma Co. Fairgrounds. (925) 872-9255

  • April 4 : Bob & Tom Comedy All-Stars Tour
    The tour was created to bring a rotating ensemble of great comedians to stages across America. (707) 546-3600

  • April 4 : Cheetah Fundraiser – Moroccan Themed World Animal Prayer & Tour
    Join KZST Pet Psychic Marla Steele in a prayer envisioning a better world for pets and wildlife followed by a 50 minute walk and talk with the Safari West animals. Reservations required. (707) 566-3622

  • April 4 : Public Viewing Night at the SSU Observatory

  • April 4 : First Friday Film Series The Natural
    Film starring Robert Redford and Glenn Close at the Charles M Schulz Museum

  • April 5 : Downtown Santa Rosa Puzzle Hunt
    Get your team together, search for clues and decipher the metapuzzle as you scour Downtown Santa Rosa for the answers to this brain-teaser. Starts at Depot Park and ends at Courthouse Square. Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd, plus best team name and best attire. (707) 543-3090

  • April 5 : Annual Occidental Fools Parade
    Celebrating Spring, West County Community & Inherent Foolishness. The parade will start at 1 p.m. and participants are to gather at noon (Occidental Community Center). As the parade ends in Occidental's Village Square, the party begins featuring live music, and much more.

  • April 5 : Cesar Chavez Health Fair
    Celebrate healthy eating and active living at the Annual César Chávez Health Fair Saturday, 10am - 2pm. at Roseland Elementary School, 950 Sebastopol Road Santa Rosa. (707) 480-4660

  • April 5 : 10 Questions for the Dalai Lama
    Rare footage by filmmaker Rick Ray. Part biography, philosophy, adventure and politics, the film conveys more than history-it opens a window to the heart of an inspiring man at the Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa.

  • April 7 : Park Advocacy Day
    Ride the bus to Sacramento and speak out on behalf of our state parks. As of now, several parks, including Armstrong Woods, are slated to be closed starting July 1 due to budget cuts. If you haven't signed up and would like to go, email stewards@mcn.org as soon as possible.

  • April 7 : The Warming Will Accelerate the Warming
    Dr. Inez Fung, UC Berkeley, will describe how climate change will alter the processes that store carbon in the land and the oceans, and hence accelerate climate change itself. At Sonoma State University.

  • April 8 : Cyberspace Predators - Forum
    Informative, interactive forum on Cyber Predators. The hookup to cyberspace will be live and real sites will be accessed. Under 13 not admitted. For info, click on link and go to “Events & News” in the menu.

  • April 9 – 13 : Annual Sonoma Valley Film Festival
    Celebrate 11 years of film, food and wine! The Sonoma Valley Film Festival welcomes you to an intimate and luxurious extended weekend in the heart of Sonoma wine country, featuring over 75 new films from around the world. Food & wine tastings before every film screening, lively receptions, hot parties, exclusive winery excursions, and casual mingling with emerging filmmakers, film stars, star winemakers and celebrity chefs.   • April 9 : Rosemary in the Springtime
    A Herbal History of Sonoma County presented by Rosemary Gladstar. Silent auction, door prizes, food and beverages available for sale. Benefit for Sonoma County Herb Exchange. At Luther Burbank Art & Garden Center, 2050 Yulupa Ave., Santa Rosa. $20 donation. (707) 824-1447

  • April 10 and 12: Trail Stewardship Workshops
    Join the Sonoma County Trails Council for two free workshops and learn the essentials of trail stewardship and maintenance. At Spring Lake Regional Park.
