November Events in Sonoma County
November 1 - 5 --- "Dia de los Muertos"
During Halloween, death is scary business. Everywhere you look, yards are decorated with gravestones and zombies and other ghoulish frights. So, once trick-or-treating is over, it’s a good idea to go beyond the scary stuff and reflect on the cyclic nature of life and death, and to honor the dead. A great way to do this is to visit the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art for their annual Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) exhibit. The museum invites local Latino families to erect commemorative altars in the gallery to celebrate departed generations and family members in the tradition of the Mexican Day of the Dead.
