This statue in Cotati Plaza is a memorial to local accordionist extraordinaire Jim Boggio, who co-created the Cotati Accordion Festival. At the time of his death, in 1996, Keyboard magazine described him as one of the three best accordion players in the United States. His family, friends and fans described him as one of the happiest and nicest men you could ever meet. Every year at the festival, they still honor him with a special song.
