Roshambo is an artsy winery, frequented by the young and hip (as well as the not-so-young and hip). "Roshambo" is another name for the game rock-paper-scissors and the winery holds an annual rock-paper-scissors tournament. In 2006, a young newlywed named Kristen Lantz, of Philadelphia, beat out 256 other competitors for the trophy and $1,000 prize. Roshambo President Naomi Brilliant was happy to see the trophy back in a woman's hands and offered up some marital guidance for the young couple: "This just proves that guys have no idea what's going on in a girl's mind while the ladies know exactly what guys are thinking."
Note: Roshambo Winery is no longer at this location. There are plans to build a new winery on Westside Rd. over the next several years. For now, the Roshambo tasting room is open at Cornerstone Place, 23570 Hwy. 121 in Sonoma.
