It's probably the combination of big, stately homes and beautiful, old trees that won the hearts of Hollywood. Four movies have been shot within a three-block area along McDonald Ave. The home peeking out from the bushes in this picture was used in the filming of Wes Craven's Scream. The bedroom and the wrap-around porch can be seen in the movie. Long ago, this porch was also used in real-life by Alfred Hitchcock as a place to sit down and relax while filming Shadow of a Doubt next door. He and Judge Donald Geary, who lived in the house back then, would drink cocktails out here and discuss the day's events.
